Beginner, hi, just want some suggestions...

I will probably get a bigger tank at the end of the month, should I get a bigger filter, or the one you suggested?

The size of filter will depend on the size tank you get. Once you decide what size tank you are going to get, post a new question on here.....or do a google search for the correct filter size.

Do you know if these fish, like rocky environments, lots of plants or just sand?

Your fish would be fine with rocks, artificial plants (silver dollars will eat real plants), and sand. The sand might end up being a little trouble when cleaning you tank. Rock substrate is easier to maintain.

In that pic is it just me or does it look like a pangasius in the bottom right corner..? Anyone agree?

Also the hi-fins wont be ok in a 100 gal either..They will need atleats 400 gallons..

In the bottom right corner, in the back is one of my bala sharks.

How often should I do a water change and clean the filter? Or should I just do it when the water starts looking funky?

At the moment I do it once a week. I have my tank for about a month now.

Thanx for your replies, I will give the hi fins to my fiance, he has a 100g tank, then he can get rid of them if he wants to, because he bought them for me.

looking closerl, i think it is. its got the big eyes and.....hun u may need to get rid of everything apart from the gouramis and fighter, maybe one plec.
not trying to flame u but theres quite a few fish there that will need big homes quick, especially id sharks. they get huge! lol
can u get a closer pic of the fish ^^^up there please.

not long, im not sure of the growth rate of ids but if i remember rightly, within a year they will be over a foot long. depends on how often u feed and what u feed.
you wont just need a bigger tank, you will need a pond.
