Beginner, hi, just want some suggestions...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Not a bala..A pangasius prolly an id/paroon 'shark'. These catfish grow to over 6 foot..Keep the betta (Siamese Fighting FIsh) and scrap the rest..Sorry...

I also think your 'plecs' may be ottocinculus..These are tiny fish only growing to 5cm :D

also agree that its not a bala.

now that we have all ripped you tank apart, i suggest keeping the betta in a tank by itself...it may have its fins nipped off by its tank mates.

welcome to MFK:headbang2

honest hun, wer not trying to rip u apart or flame. just lettin u no u havnt got the easiest of first time fish lol and making sure u have longer than a month or so to enjoy before fish start eating fish.:)

the one in the last pic defo is an id or paroon shark. I do se some balas though...

If you do keep the fish in there they will become stunted and will die as their organs will keep growing but their bones wont then the fish lives a slow painful death

I see some silver dollars too  they can get to like 10'' but are very rounde so appear larger. You can't keep them either..

She did say though that she is buying another bigger tank soon, so there shouldn't be that much problems then?

I don't think she needs to get rid of all her fish, because by the time she gets a bigger tank they will be suitable for that tank. She also said earlier that she will give her hi fin sharks to me, so that should solve that problem or am I wrong?

The fish are still very very small, not even an inch long. So they will survive another month in that tank. But please correct me if I am wrong.
