Beginner Oddball fish

The small puffers or rope fish will definitely eat some of the other inhabitants.

Also I misread the OP. Thought it was a 38g tank. So most mormyids would probably be big for it, yes.

Are you thinking of Kryptopterus minor? I mean, they max out at 3" and from what I've known...wouldn't hurt anything other than flake food...is he raising brine shrimp? Are you confusing it for K. bicirrhis? They get around 6" as adults...Stop stealing my thunder...let me have this. BIRD CALL! KAKAW!
 
I would put in one or two afican butterflies, the only shrimp thatd be endangered are any that go to the surface. Their kind alike a mini poor mans arowana lol. Also my ABF eats from my hand when i feed crickets or krill. They can take anything that fits in their mouth however wont attack anything thats even an inch below the surface, ime.
 
It's the shrimp that are limiting your options... Almost any fish you add might end up slaughtering your shrimp. Shrimps, esp the fancy expensive ones like crystal reds, are best kept in their own tank - im sure that they are a great addition to your peaceful community, but they are always potential fish food

Guys, its RCS or red cherry shrimp. And where is this Monster Mini thread anyway?
 
I have a cherry shrimp tank. I put rabbit snails (lots of different cool ones available) and n-class endlers. You can also do some galaxy rasboras, Pygmy rasboras, Pygmy Cory cats(all schooling fish). Micro crabs are really cool too. Sparkling gourami are fun but sometimes eat baby shrimp.
How about another fish tank? :)

Thanks for the info... thats the only tank I have... and I don't really have the cash to start a new one yet.
