Belly Up Aro's HELP

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I'm not aware of bleeding air from them, but at this point in time I don't think it would hurt. I would be careful of other organs surrounding the bladder, but it definitely does sound like an air problem.

now again, i am only giving you last resort stuff...but interestingly, i just saw a local china LFS guy do something quite unique.....

he just brought in a new shipment and a fish was belly up but alive....

here is what he did.....

hold it right side up - and begin the gently massage and squeeze it -- basically burping it or encouraging it to release air.....

i thought he was doing it quite "ruff" but in about 10 seconds, the fish swam away and was 100%.....

i whould never ever do any of those sugestions;)

HP must be sleeping...I am going to give up..7 hours with my hands in the water and the moment I let go, up she pops..and the RTG is getting worse, with her tail up, part of it out of the water..

What a venture!

i wouldn't do this much even for a girl....

..it's past 4 in the morning...I see no sign of improvememt, it is only getting worse..the red is not going to make it and I am afraid the RTG is getting worse...

What will be , will be.

hi bros,

I have just realised that this thread is also bout the shipment to Lisboa.

FYI, bouncy problems that happens to aros being airfreight are very common. The most important thing now is to add in heater and adjust the temperature to 32 degress. At the same time, add in 0.3% of aquarium salt into the tank.

Do partition your tank so that the aro will be sandwich in between them and hold in the horizontal position.

You should see some improvements within a day.

Do keep Admond posted on it.

Does he still need to hold it upright and completely under the water still?

yes! They must be hold upright and maintain in their horizontal position. thats why we need to use partition to sandwich the aro in between the partition and side of the glass tank!

doing everything i can paul...

now i'm gonna raise the temp...;)
