Try sprinkling a few small live crickets on the surface then staying well back from the tank, this may tempt the female to eat.

thanks for the advice, it seems she is trying to eat. i put in a couple mosquito fish today, and the male ate a big round female right after i put it in, and then i put in two smaller ones because i knew he was full. and a number of times the female attacked, and missed like 3 seperate times. and my brother said this morning she was hunting near the bottom, and tried to eat a mosq. fish and got a mouth full of sand. since yesterday the male at 7 mosquito fish, and today he was tail wagging and trying to mate with the female, but the female is too skinny and not feelin that yet.

here is a pretty boring vid, of course eventually after i get all the plants and driftwood, stuff like the heater in the back will be hidden (but i shouldnt even worry about that now as the bigger tank will be up soon). i was trying to get a vid of the killfish hunting, but they already ate so many that they were full. check out the mosquito fish jump out of the water at 2:29 haha.
