i have a 100gallon tank but how does the tank benifit from them. my biggest one is 10" and the others 5". so what is the other fish benifiting from while there in there? ive seen tanks with out pelcos in there and they are clean. but mine sit around and do nothing? they swim around just like the other fish hmm idk i thin there pointless. and sugestions?

Younger plecos tend to clean glass more than older ones. Some continue to clean glass throughout their lives while others never do to begin with. In the end all of them produce an incredible amount of solid waste. So basically, in the long run, there is no benefit. The idea of pleco being good housekeepers is primarily just a myth. Especially since their waste reduces water quality.

I have a 3 inch sailfin pleco, don't get me wrong, he cleans like a hoover but craps like a elephant.

Plecos are just like any other fish you buy. You get it because you LIKE them. Don't buy one expecting it to do YOUR job.

Well put!:headbang2By the way you ever seen an adult L-25? Color is fascinating and full of personality.

I think the benefits of a having a pleco is just that they're awesome fish :D
They do poop a lot but I find them fascinating. They might not do much but I can watch them all day.
