That's a "Chinese Algae Eater". Sorry don't know the latin off-hand. And I would be more worried about IT bothering the poly. than the plecos. I've seen those things "suck" other fish do death many times.
Crap. I have heard nasty things about them too but have only ever seen tiny gold ones so thought they were tiny and gold. He doesn't seem to bother anyone, but will probably put him upstairs in the 75 when I move Ellie and Pita downstairs. One of the Pacu is probably going back to the fish shop I got him from, it will be a smaller tank but he is trying really hard to piss off the two I already have.

I hate those things. On the flip side they ARE efficient algae eaters.

I love Mr E. :( But said I would never keep a CAE. Maybe I could put him and a few other fish in their own tank or something. I donno. He's not bothered anyone yet, but the stories scare me :( :( :(

Maybe you have the rare "good seed" CAE. lol:D

Yeah, I thought the oscar was cool stuff and sorted himself out at first too... then he got people to report me for cruelty to fish, they thought he was suffering and dying, then some dude from the RSPCA asked me what was up, I told him "oh, the sulky oscar, yeah, he's a bit of a pain, but is in top health, just a sulky so-and-so" and he goes "Oh, no one said it was an oscar, I have one that never leaves the bottom of the tank unless its for food, everything sets it off. Anyway, sorry to bother you, hows the dog?" and so on about the rescue dog we took in a year and some ago, so the oscar is hidden away in the fish room to sulk in private, though is now happy with Ellie. They have dug a hole in the sand down to the glass and are both happily sitting in it... which weirds me out.

Anyway, all of these fish aim to cause me trouble, they just wait for things to settle in then do something horrible. I can imagine its only a question of time... he'll eat a pacu or something. I do love him though, so I hope he is a pattern breaker and a little angel.
