have you looked at bichirs? as long as it's too big to fit into the cichlid's mouths, they make great tank mates for american cichlids (even though they're african)
polypterus senegalus and polypterus palmas are the two smallest and most easily aquuired species of bichir. They generally top out at around 12". Though if all of the fish are in a 180, you could pretty much fit any bichir you wanted with the right filtration (which you probably already have with all of those cichlids). if your interested in bichirs, you should also consider rope fish
Not all the current stock is staying permenantly. I just couldnt decide which i wanted so i got them all and then remove some at a later date. A bichir may be an option then. I will have to research it a little more.
Clowns are a no because i simply dont like them. They dont appeal to me. Its a shame because i know they do a great job, but im not sure if its the body shape or colour/pattern that puts me off.

I have two fx5s and a fluval 205. And i am very good at my water changes, even if i do say so myself. My water params are perfect, i know my fish are only juvenile atm, and the bioload will increase but i think it is adequately filtered and maintained IMO.
