Best Breeding pair in a 122g

Don't immediately take out the fry. I don't think you should ever do that if the parents are taking care of them. Leave them with the parents as long as you can. When they get about an inch or so, then sell them. Unless your LFS knows about Festae, I wouldn't try to sell the fry to them. You could get cheated out of profit for a very sought after cichlid. Try to sell as many as you can to knowledgable LFS or individuals that really know what you have.

Great choices. I agree with festae as well. Also keep in mind some species that are available now that may not be as easily obtainable down the road such as red istlanum, lyonsi, Rio blanco motaguense, maybe even some snooks:)

As to the fry, IME 6-8 weeks with parents is perfect. Then the fry tend to nibble on parents fins and such. Plus in sure by then 1/2-1" fry in the hundreds would drive them nuts:) LOL. Good luck and please update With what you end up getting

All the info u guys gave me sound great. Leaving the fry wit the parents would look really cool. I was just concerned that the parents might eat the fry if they spawn again.

I have a 30g to put some of the fry in if i can't sell all of them.

Also ill ask my lfs if they're interested in some festae or if they know anything about them. I want to get the most enjoyment out of this pair. When everything is set and done i want to post pics here and show u guys my hard work:D
