k be there at 9 tonight

haha forgot the time difference

dont flame me but i find it easier to do a community with a overstocked tank because aggresion really spreads out and so far my 180 g is full of 3-6 inch fish and no deaths here is the stock list, also all fins are perfect, but what you have to do is remove all the aggresive fish and everytime i have a super aggresive fish i sell him and replace him but so far i only replaced 1 mean texas but he was 7 inches big , dont hate me but my fish are all healthy and thriving , i just have lots of hiding places

Not going to flame but going to offer some friendly advice from someone else who is trying the overstocked while juvies method.

The first thing I look for is the maximum potential size - I like to stay 4" smaller then the width of my tank.
The second thing I look for is for species that have a potential to work together - granted each fish will have their own personalities but some fish have a very little chance of playing nice in a community setup - Flowerhorn, RD, Midas come to mind.
And third - thin where needed, this is really important to trying this overstocked method. It may be working one day put be prepared to thin the next.

Since you were brave enough to list your stock I feel I should do the same - not fair to be giving advice on an overstocked setup when I'm running one myself and don't list what I have.

lol What tank size AquaLoon?

wow these are some great sounding tanks, although i feel like the guy who turned up to the party in a pair of shorts and a t-shirt while everyone else is wearing suits...lol...the only other ting id like to add to my tank after the trimac is some sort of bottom dweller but im really dont have a clue what to add there as iv never really been into them (but thats for another thread) yeah guys if you could post pictures of your tanks that would be great......id love to add a green terror but if im honest id be frightened of waking up to carnage if i put anymore that 4 in my tank....i guess its horses for courses, i looked at the media lounge the other day about a guy that changed his substrate in his 200+g tank and his tank had probably 10+ fish in it but it looked great and the fish looked in great condition so there might be something to the overstocking thing, oh and most the fish in his tank looked more or less adult

My current set up is in a 120g (60x18x26).

Midas x1 (10" peaceful, :screwy: crazy how easy going he is compared to others Ive owned)
Parachromis loisellei x2 (5" and 2", will get rid of smaller)
Paratheraps fenestratus x2 (both 4", will keep only one)
Red Hooks & regular silver dollar x4 (4"-4.5")
Pleco x1 (8" Smaller sailfin type)

Overall I have a pretty good mix that get along pretty well but still want to add one large fish like a pearsei or bocourti when all the occupants go into the new 210g (72x24x29). Also want to add one more SD to get the school back to 5 fish.
