I was kinda thinking the same thing. Every fish i own has a permanent home even if things dont work out in a particular tank. And even then, id just buy another tank to house them. That tank is grossly overcrowded purely from a biological standpoint. Its no wonder there are less fish at the end of the thread. Overcrowding is one thing, but that tank goes a bit past that. just my 2c of course. Like I said, I have 6 cichlids in a 300 and I feel I am at the limits of what might work longterm. And that's a big might..........

I have a 180 with a jag, midas, rtm, rt, and 3 juvenile barred midas..

The barred midas are being moved soon, and so is the rtm.

I have bichirs, and I still think it's crowded.

Yeah, I'm thinking once my Midas and Festae hit adulthood, all the smaller cichlids will have to be moved back to the 90. At adult size, I think I could pull off 3 for sure and maybe 4-5 but with cichlids you just never know. My Midas is really mellow(so far) and my Festae is the smallest of the lot, but once everyone hits the 8-10" mark things will change regardless of how badly I want them to coexist.

like i said i will lessen on my stok as time goes by, and only keep the fish that work , like the fish that are calm and peacful and in the future i will have a 96x24x36 with only 6-10 fish max in it, but for now at a juvenile size they are all right

are you joking Red Texas are mean as hell and the one id really be watching out for is the Beani there monsters

True. They are mean as hell but my money is still on the Umbee. Either way, an Umbee, red devil, beani and red Texas in a 6' tank is going to eventually be interesting to say the least. No flame, just saying.....

Best of luck.

they will be ok till they get to atleast 6-7". rite now i have a 300 gallon stock with 1 dovii 6", 1umbee 3", pair festae 6-7",1 red texas 6", 1 midas 3",3 jag x loisellei, 8" green terror, two clow loaches, kkp and bp, 1 cuban 3"

forgot to add the bifaciatus and regani theyre all doing great together but im starting to thin out some more into my unwanted fish pond

My RTM and 1 of the barred needs to be moved because they are female, and the RTM is already causing riff with all the males in the tank. I am thinking about making my 150 a grow out for some female SA/CA cichlids, because I have the Barred, RTM, but I also have a citrinellus, and cuban that are female as well.

My midas is about 11" now, and he's a complete puppy. The RT is pushing 8", and the Jag is maybe 9".. All is well with them, and they all have their space. The jag surprisingly is the most mellow of them all, and he's as big as he will get because of prev owner conditions. But he was my first SA cichlid, and by far my favorite! I also have 5 honduran jags I am growing out.

actually the red devil is the biggest and nicest, the umbee might eventually go, and the rt depends on how it looks, and the beani i will breed later down the line in a seperate tank, trust me the tank is just a growout and i have things planned out
