so I’m going to shut down my tank for a while, this means that I’m having to sell all my fish. The current stock in the tank means that I have a lot of fish to sell. I’m looking for ideas on what to stock my tank once I can get it back up. I thought that I would want to try a bigger pair of cichlids for the first time. I wanted to hear what your favourite cichlid pair to keep was. I would like them to have personality but I know that’s hard with a pair. Thanks for any help

You're limited on size, but could easily do a GT pair, Texas pair, JD, anything in the sub-10" range I would imagine would do great. With GT/JD you could get away with a few small tankmates possibly.

Two Oscars would do okay too, as long as filtration is up to code. Very personable fish, not too aggressive.

Indeed both of those in my opion need at least an 8x2. I would stick with something in the 12in range, a bit tight but manageable. Smaller would be better of course.
Are you saying that for the size of the fish or because a pair might not work in that tank, I did think about a Cuban cichlid pair
