It is also the majority opinion. Oscars are to fishkeeping what the model T was to cars.

Exactly. No one drives model Ts anymore lol

Because they're common, cheap, not particularly attractive and produce way too much waste.

Sounds like you get your fish info from Petsmart. I wont argue about looks but a cichlid will make as much waste as you feed it, there are no extra poop producing organs on oscars no matter what the emo kid at Petco told you.

But every car is made the same way, just like every other wet pet will be judged on standards set by the oscar. And your analogy is weak because fish technology didnt accelerate like the auto industry - oscars are timeless.

I'm getting really tired of this ^^^ act.

We get it, you like Oscars...so LIKE them. What do you care if other people do or do not? It doesn't take anything away from the fish or how you feel about the fish. A lot of people on here like plenty of other fish that other people hate, but they don't go around bad-mouthing these people in various threads. Enjoy your Oscars, and stop caring so much what other people think of them.

I don't think he likes them. He respects them because they are like the model T.

Oscars are awesome when they are young but when they get older and slow down they lose a lot of their awesomeness.

This is surprising coming from you. There is nothing about oscars that makes them age worse than any other fish. Just like the line about them being waste factories. I guess part of being the most popular wet pet of all time is that myths and legends develop, but look at things rationally and theyre no different than any other cichlid, except for their character and personality.

Original poster said to name the fish, AND WHY. I like the jag's best because of their beautiful markings, and they are interesting to watch. :headbang2
