I'm getting really tired of this ^^^ act.

We get it, you like Oscars...so LIKE them. What do you care if other people do or do not? It doesn't take anything away from the fish or how you feel about the fish. A lot of people on here like plenty of other fish that other people hate, but they don't go around bad-mouthing these people in various threads. Enjoy your Oscars, and stop caring so much what other people think of them.

:clap:clap:clap

I can't even see this being a debate, it's the mighty O hands down! Best wet pet, as a solo, in pairs, trios or in a supporting role. Winner of the Westminster Wet Pet of the year award a record breaking 63 years in a row. The question should be, "which is the best Oscar to own?"

Ok back to reality, to the OP it is such a subjective question it's almost impossibile to answer. I don't know what the best cichlid to own is, I haven't owned all of them...........yet!

The one not always laying on it's side on the substrate, I can't stand the sulking....and one without chronic mega-waste syndrome. :D

This is surprising coming from you. There is nothing about oscars that makes them age worse than any other fish. Just like the line about them being waste factories. I guess part of being the most popular wet pet of all time is that myths and legends develop, but look at things rationally and theyre no different than any other cichlid, except for their character and personality.

It's no myth and legends lol, do you think you're the only mfk member that has kept Oscars? Most people here has kept and even bred em for years, and then figured it's a waste of time and moved on to more worthy/challenging species, too bad you're stuck on the ugly duckling of the fish world.

WOW, we have some touchy individuals here.

I have so many favs. It started out with the Amphs. (RD, Xilo, Sag, Hoga) Out of that group I'd go with my Hogaboomarum, Color, personality, attitude.

Then I would say the Parachromis. I love my Dovi, and RTM the best. The Dovi for its pure strength and size. And my RTM for there beauty, and color.

Festae for the pure beautiful colors, and rarity.

Grammode for its unique look and its mini Dovi attitude.

The Red Devil for its pure nastiness and personality.

Capintis Escondido is absolutely stunning.

All of the Vieja's. (Argentea, Maculicauta, Regani, Synspilum)

Some new additions to my family that are starting to grow on me are:

Umbee, Zonatum, Ornatum, Robertsoni, Naurasatti,.

OK, OK! I'm done, too many favs to choice from.

Wait 1 more on the fav list. My Cren. Lenticulata. Just one awesome looking Pike.

Wow, too many wishy washy answers, its a simple question.

The answer is very simple and obvious although many fish snobs will turn up heir noses, but the all time greatest most versatile and appealing cichlid in the history of fishkeeping is the Oscar.

lol oscars are alright but why most people on here dont favour them is IMO There more of a community tank type of fish and................................

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
BORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRING!!!!!! lol
