Best Clean-up Crew for Bichir Tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Blue Botia... fast little things and can hold their own.... even see one take food out a bichir mouth.... they take a pellet and chew it for a while giving the others time to eat. Must give them a den area though.

Well from what I gather some hungry plecos have tasted the slime coat on fish and seem to like it a lot almost to addiction. It just happens bichirs stand still at the tank bottoms a lot in reach. No other reason its worse for bichirs than any other fish. They are just easier to get to by the plecos.

Just keep your plecos fat and fed and you should be good.

I've got geos with mine, peaceful and great at cleanup,I hardly see any crap any where, also clowns are good but get big ones.

have u kept plecos with bichirs yourself?

im thinkin that people are saying no plecos with bichirs simply because another person on the internet said so.. this is making tons think plecos are completely incompatible with bichirs. sure, maybe a common pleco might like slime coats.. but never would a BN pleco do that. ive been keeping bns for over 6 years now, breeding them, and putting them in every single tank i have running. they have never bothered anything. including the fry tanks i keep them in.

if u haven't personally kept plecos with bichirs, stop telling people its a bad idea.

Guys stop being so lazy! LOL! just clean ur tank once a week and use a magnetic tank glass scaper and ur tank can become sparkling clean in no time. The magnetic glass scapers are awesome!
