Best dithers for my 200gallon

Silver dollars are not good for spreading aggression around. Cichlids who hate each other will ignore the silver dollars. They are not a good combo for already skittish fish, as they will cause them to bolt when they bolt.

I know they won't spread aggression that was what the added cichlids were for, and what you just said about them not helping with fish being skittish has contradicted everything that I've ever been told about these fish haha

I have a salvini and nic always going at it. They also constantly go after the 3 silver dollars in the tank. They definitely don't ignore them lol

Nice looking fish you got there!
I still think you should get the silver dollars and as far as another cichlid go one of the following could work. Oscar ( or mayby a pair) Texas, vieja synspilim, green terror.
What's the tank dimensions and what filtration are you using?

My experience has been different. I had a nic, t-bar, jag, oscar, chocolate, 2 festae, bifa and convict ignore the school of 5 silver dollars that I had. Over the course of 1 year, they were completely ignored and never chased off by any of the cichlids. The cichlids were too busy posturing to each other.

May be due my tank size, I only have a 60 gallon for them currently. I'm sure you have a much bigger tank

When the SDs bolted when someone (not me) went near the tank, the cichlids bolted as well. When doing a water change...the SDs continually bolted back and forth in the aquarium (8 foot long) until the water change was over. The cichlids bolted at the same time. Once I got rid of the SDs, there was no more bolting across the tank during a water change and when someone went near the tank.

maybe you'll get non-skittish SDs

How many silver dollars did you have in the tank?

Yea I was going to get about 4 silver dollars and I would really love to get an oscar pair or even just one. My tank dimensions are 180cm by 60cm by 70cm so it's a bit higher than your average 6ft about 760litres and my filtration is a nautilus 2700 aqua one canister and a fluval 305 from my old tank which both seem to do a great job. I had a green terror for ages with these guys and she was always like 2 inches and would never grow over the few months I had her and she would never get bullied by any of them but they out grew her and she got her head bitten off. I've also had a smaller oscar in here which got killed and a bigger one which owned the tank but unfortunately got sick and died so I think as long as I get one bigger than the rest it should be all sweet what do you guys recon? Maybe not an oscar maybe something more aggressive?

I'd say silver dollars or something equally athletic and quick moving like giant danios.
