Interesting that the XP3 is doing so well on your 75. I have 1 on my 75 by itself and I'm probably going to get it some help soon. I'm not having any issues with the water parameters, but the mechanical filteration just isn't there. I've tried the SuperMicro pads, which just ended up clogging in 3 or 4 days, but still didn't get all the particles out. So I'm going to add another canister, just not sure which one yet.

I only have a texas cichlid and a pleco(probably why?)... nothing can go in the tank or else it will be murdered(long story and not pretty)... she got teeth too.. made me bleed..

All of mine run non-stop, heavy stocked for 5 years and they are all still dead quiet and strong like new. SIMPLY EHEIM THE BEST !

5 years

I have 2x Eheim 2213 classic for over 20 years now. But as you said, the rubber ring every once in a while...nothing else, yet *knockonwood*

My Eheim professional interval is a different story though, broke down after a couple of years. I am about to buy a 2260 now, back to the roots, when everything was better ;)

Good luck with your FX 5 though.

I told myself i wouldn't buy fluval garbage ever again and try to steer people away, just from me and my friends experiences throughout highschool... but for what size it is, people who have reviewed it, and a 3 year warranty i figure i give fluval a chance to redeem themselves...

use the fx5 to polish and xp3 for bio. youll never be happier

i heard some people say those polish pad clogs real quick in the fx5(the circle one that fits bucket).... are you saying to get the fluval polish sponges and put them in the media basket?? i know stock has a lot to do with things and the people who claimed this didn't mention their stock at all.....

Thanks!

Fthe fx5 is def a good filter, however eheim is better than fluval/Rena IMO... I have 2 2217's on my 100 gal, and with 1/3 weekly water changes nitrates are never above 10 (5 clown loaches, 4 vieja synspila growouts, 1 geo altifrons, 1 p. Endli)
