i use NLS and Omega One, really great products, when i switched, all the fish that would never touch flakes now love both those brands, and there readilly available at Petco and Petsmart
I'm a hikari fan, sinking pellets while they're that small and then maybe carnivore pellets as they get bigger - i may get flamed for this but i bought a big container of the omega one super cichlid color pellets when i had my africans and even though i rehomed them and moved on, they're what i feed my GT and he's grown faster than any fish i've ever had
I solve the problem of picking a brand by buying a container of each, dumping them into a bucket and mixing them together. Currently I've got Nutrafin arowana sticks, hikari aro sticks, Jumbo-min, Omega large cichlids pellets, dried krill, dainichi xlg colour enhancing pellets all mixed up.
I voted for "other"... you have got to try Ed's almost natural fish food.. he uses human consumption grade ingredients. I got a sample through winning a contest at another site and I must say fish were very happy and developed good color on this food http://www.almostnaturaltropicalfishfood.com/
