What kayaks have your heard of or used that is good. I have a perception 10ft and its not super stable, wish i got something different. Anything you guys would reccommend? looking for maybe a sit on top?

I have a ocean kayak (prowler 13) that im currently rigging. Its decent and I got a good deal for it but there are some drawbacks. The front and rear scupper holes a too shallow so if you don't have scupper plugs then you'll take on alot of water. Also I think the Ocean kayaks plastic material looks pretty cheap compared to other kayak brands but its still durable. The last thing is its a little bit of a challenge to fish standing up as its a little narrower than some other yaks. I still like it alot though, if I were looking to get another yak I'd think I would look at the Hobie Quest or a Wilderness systems yak.

i have a wilderness systems pungo 120 and its a blast fishing off it

well you cant stand on pretty much any kayak without falling off. people just fish sitting in them, thats what i do. i got my pungo for about $650 and i havent looked back since. its a great investment so i suggest not going too cheap or you may regret it down the road. hope this helps!

I have used friends Mainstream Patriots? think thats wat they are. And its 12ft, i stood on its with a nice 15 mph breeze going down the middle of a lake, standing and paddleing at the same time no problem. I havent yet looked at its price

I also have an Ocean Kayak I got mine along with TeChris. They were a good deal but not cheap. Mine was in the $600-700 range and his was a little more. They are nice kayaks but I agree with the cheap looking plastic. My kayak is a Venus 11 but its a girls version of a kayak more or less (you'll see when you see the pictures lol). I have not rigged mine up for fishing yet due to lack of money but I think it will be a great fishing kayak. You can really stand up on any kayak without the risk of falling, but I do think mine is much more stable then my boyfriends prowler 13 as its much wider. I have stood up on it with no problem but you have to do it just right and its still wobbly getting up. I will personally fish sitting down. I attached a few photos of our kayaks when we first got them. It should be pretty obvious who has the venus 11 and who has the prowler 13 lol.

after looking, the heritage redfish 10 is $559.00. My uncle got the 12ft version which is around 600-700. He said there stable but i dont know about these. So far i think i found 2 i like in my range.
Then the malibu-mini-x rec kayak. Its $10 cheaper than the other one. Which one should i get and which one has more fishing upgrades?

The hobie quest is a really nice kayak but if you read on the site it says local pick up only no shipping and its in Texas. That is a great deal on that kayak though I wish I lived there we'd pick it up in a heartbeat. Why dont you try looking on craigslist in your area for one. I see great kayaks all the time for cheap. I really wouldnt buy a cheap kayak though because its an investment that you are going to have for a long time and not something you can just go and keep buying because they are expensive.
