Best fishing kayak

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
no im planning on finding a model in my range, and then maybe doing a switch or tradeing or something.

After selecting 4, I calculated their length and width. After multiplying the length, feet, by 12, for inches, this kayak came out with 3.2. Meaning that it will have the best stability out of the 4 yaks. Check me if im wrong, but i think the calculation is correct. Even if this yak is cheap, it will need
overhauling!

It looks like it would be hard to mount anything for fishing poles on that kayak. Just keep in mind that even though it has width in certian conditions more width is going to be a disadvantage, I like mine because its wide but not to wide to cause me to many problems. I am not sure how wide that kayak is as I have never seen it in person, but it looks pretty wide. Whenever you do get your kayak make sure there is places to mount your poles (there should be able to spot it on the kayak when you see it). Also make sure that you have room to hold something to put your fish in as well as bait, etc.

Sweet yaks, only porblem is their out of my price range and im looking for a sit on top. Since you sound like you know what your talking about with yaks, can you plaese check these 3 for me?

I also have an Ocean Kayak I got mine along with TeChris. They were a good deal but not cheap. Mine was in the $600-700 range and his was a little more. They are nice kayaks but I agree with the cheap looking plastic. My kayak is a Venus 11 but its a girls version of a kayak more or less (you'll see when you see the pictures lol). I have not rigged mine up for fishing yet due to lack of money but I think it will be a great fishing kayak. You can really stand up on any kayak without the risk of falling, but I do think mine is much more stable then my boyfriends prowler 13 as its much wider. I have stood up on it with no problem but you have to do it just right and its still wobbly getting up. I will personally fish sitting down. I attached a few photos of our kayaks when we first got them. It should be pretty obvious who has the venus 11 and who has the prowler 13 lol.

Do you both kayak in non alligator man made lakes or even alligator lakes , rivers ?

Me and Ash have only played in the pond in my backyard so far. I just got some goodies for my yak, rod holders, drift chute , anchor trolley kit, etc. When were ready we will eventually start fishing around mosquito lagoon and indian river lagoon.
