Honestly for Quality you could go with several Vendors on here. Jeff Rapps(Tangledupincichlids.com) and Ken Davis(Fishfarm) are the two most reputable. Cichlid Connection is probly right there behind them, but I don't get the whole "San Juan Black" Midas.

If you want color, then here are your options with Max Size.

Amphilophus Citrinellus(Midas) - 14"
Amphilophus Labiatus(Red Devil) - 12"
Amphilophus Xiloaenisis - 8-10"" Jason_S has some of these. Very Midas like in features.
Amphilophus Sagittae - 8-10" Very RD like in features minus the lips.

Honestly for your tank size Xiloaenisis and Saggittae would be awsome. There are Videos of both on the Facebook page I have in my sig. Good luck choosing, with Amphilophus there is no wrong choice.;)

Only thing that kills is the shipping :( I only have room for one fish, apartment life = fail.

One of the petsmarts said they had one available (Midas, likely cross but I dun mind). Think I'll pick him up after class today :D

Pics of him/her when I get home for sure!!!!!!!

Just a quick update, got the midas (looks like a RDxMidas, but feisty as hell :D) and also rescued...err picked up a GT that was lookin like hell, half off til he jumped out of the container she put him in, then he was free. Poor guy is torn to crap, but I'm thinking with a little TLC I can get him right as rain :D

I've seen that video and that is one exception not the rule. FYI, young Festae typically behave like that without an audience.
With the many large Festae owners that exists, and hundreds of video on youtube, find another. I dare you!
For that 1 video there are thousands of Midas/Red Devils ones. I am the biggest Festae fan but I know what they are not.
You'll also notice that the owner never puts his hand to the tank. Only points his finger towards it from a distance. The fish is probably more angry at his reflection than the hand. When he goes to the side of the tank the fish acts differently.

Now this is Glassbanging!!!!

So what we have is you posting a video of very rare behavior to try to prove a point.

The question now remains. Of the 2 videos, who would bite for real?

wow, can't wait til my festaes behaves like that! wow!

Jimmy16 that is not typical behavior for Festae. You misunderstood my point. They fight at their reflection, usually when only the tank light is on in a dark room. They are not glass bangers. Festae are typically shy and avoid interacting with humans except at feeding time. But they can be hell:FIREdevil on each other and other fish.

Feel free to check out my thread in the media lounge where I'll be tracking the progress of my new guy, TITAN!!! And the healing of a GT I got for free
