best hang on back filter

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Also - if you are worried about having some kind of back up incase something breaks, I would say get yourself a powerhead, I LOVE: http://www.fosterandsmithaquatics.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=4609 and toss a sponge filter http://www.fosterandsmithaquatics.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=3952 on the end - I run one on all my tanks just as extra current and filtration (just in case).... They are cheap, and they also help make your water crystal clear! You dont even have to run it 24/7 - you can just have it on hand - toss it in if something happens

I dunno, I am kind of a nut, when it comes to my fish I just try to be as prepared as possible, I have sooo much stuff "on-hand" that I have never had to use, just incase something happens I can react quickly - seriously I have an entire closet dedicated to fish supplies!!!

<~~ Love my fish :)

Never owned a emperor but have heard good things about them. I think 2 ac70's are better than 1 ac110 if they were on the same tank. Easier to maintane and if i remember correctly 2 ac70's take less electricity than 1 110. Either way they are all good hob's.

edit...I just ordered 5 of these...they were made in bulk so they are not in a box...probably just wrapped in plastic...and no bio max...sponge and carbon only. Still a good deal...

That is a heck of a deal. I may buy 1 or 2 just to replace the old hob's that I have on my 55.

Where does it say they come with sponge and carbon?

The biomax is only $3.99 per box for the 70. You can pick up 2 filters with media for less than $50 + shipping.

When I called and ordered my 5 thats what they told me...no box and no bio max but has the other stuff. He said AC made a huge amount of them like this to sell cheap. And if you look at the pic carefully they have...it shows exactly what you will get. You would have to get 20$ of biomax per filter to make it reach the reg price of them...so since biomax for that filter is probably 5 bucks its still a great deal on the 70's

I've heard nothing but good about AC110 and AC 70's, but I currently have 6 Emperor 400's running and no problems. My 10 gallon tank is SUPER CLEAN! Just Kidding. I run two per tank on three different tanks, mostly messy eaters and they seem to do well.
