Also - if you are worried about having some kind of back up incase something breaks, I would say get yourself a powerhead, I LOVE: http://www.fosterandsmithaquatics.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=4609 and toss a sponge filter http://www.fosterandsmithaquatics.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=3952 on the end - I run one on all my tanks just as extra current and filtration (just in case).... They are cheap, and they also help make your water crystal clear! You dont even have to run it 24/7 - you can just have it on hand - toss it in if something happens
I dunno, I am kind of a nut, when it comes to my fish I just try to be as prepared as possible, I have sooo much stuff "on-hand" that I have never had to use, just incase something happens I can react quickly - seriously I have an entire closet dedicated to fish supplies!!!
