4 votes for other with one post showing pics of the xanthic and no others telling what they voted for. reading comprehention people.

i just had to give another giant shpeel on my opinion of mbnuas through pm.

ughh*

I voted for Jumbo, but it was a hard decision. They are all flipping awesome in different ways. XR summed it up in the first post.

Maybe I'll get a good pic of my twelve incher, "Tiny". I don't think he's quite in the same class as these, but he's pretty awesome too. If my nine inch male was as big as the others in this thread, he might have a shot at the title. He's got an awful lot of purple on his sides and a lot of blue in his fins. I'll try to get some decent pics up soon.:)

And thanks, XR, for starting this thread. I'm a relative newcomer to MFK and hadn't seen a couple of these fishes. And another thanks is in order for the keepers of these awesome fishes. They have obviously taken a lot of time and care to raise such awesome specimens.;)

i could have added mbunas, but being that his is really only rare rather than stunning i wouldn't consider top 5 material. it's without color genes makeing very rare but not extremely attractive imo.

Keep in mind those pics are helped to look more attractive by the photographers that took them. Meaning a good photographer/camera can mean the difference between appealing and not. The xanthic never really had that level shot taken of it I don't think. And even though you might not find it attractive others might so possibly why the other votes?

Honestly I can't say if they were all in front of me in real life,(to the common fishkeeper) that there's a difference in most of them besides photographers and variants. They're all large jags. Really you can't decifer a winner.

I could be one sided and vote for who I know, or whatever. But keeping it real they're all nice. :)

Ok let's make a hypothetical situation. Let's say your pet Jag recently died and you go to your LFS to get a new one. When you get there, you see the 4 Jags pictured here for sale...but you have enough space and budget for only 1 of them. Which one would you get???

back and forth between mo and rally.

I would rather have my thumbnail ripped off than have to make that decision. Damn that was one tough hypothetical you put together....lol

It was wasn't it.. I should be a prick and say "The xanthic one" lol

Honestly between 1 and 3.. they're all nice, I just prefer the regular/less colorful jag.
