Best LED light fixture on the market!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That's not my tank but it's 24" wide and tall, the back ground in 1". PAR is what the plants see, Lumens are what the human eye see's. I'd call marineland or take to the store and do a side by side. I could be wrong about the marineland being broken, but from what I've seen in person and in other peoples video's it doesn't add up. The lights on the tank in the pic are 24" with 8 LEDs oppose to the 36" with 16 LED's.

I'm not planning on using the marinelands but if I was I'd ask my friend if I could borrow his for a few hours to test on my 30" tank.

Great thread my man.

I just did my review on the Marinelands but the ecoxotics might be a better option!

I currently have the 36-48" marineland double bright on a 46 gallon and its plenty enough light but this tank is only 20" deep or so and the length is the same as the actual fixtures.

I tried the same light on my gfs 75 gallon and it did look a bit dim on the side, but very natural looking as you said.

In your opinion how would 2 of the 12W Ecoxotics do on a 75 gallon 48x21x18? Ill probably put one on each side of the tank.

If marineland would come out with a 48-60" fixture im sure it would cover the tank nicely, but these seems like a great option as well!

Btw this is a link to my video review thread

I just picked up a pair of the TMC AquaGro 500's with the controller unit for my 75G planted Tropheus tank and they are amazing. Not the cheapest around and certainly more expensive then the DIY LED's but for me they work great. The controller is really cool too as it can simulate sunrise/sunset by dimming the lights from 100% to 0% over X period of time. I've programmed mine to go down to 1% and stay there until sunrise time to simulate moonlight. It casts a nice eery light in the tank with the shimmer effect and plants.

Can you post a pic of what it looks like? They seem nice

I think two of the Modules would light a 75 very well. I have just three on my 150 plus the dim Doublebright....The modules are really bright and the reflector well designed.

I use natural lighting and it works great for my 150g deep tank :)

Man watch out you dont get green water lol.
I have my 10 gallon planted right by the window and the water turned green a couple days ago...

You should take some pics and do an update on your thread!

I would say twice as bright....the light penatrates much better. The fixtures are only a foot long and my added height helps diffuse the light wider...I still think 2 would work. i love this system because I can usually come up with a hundred bucks for something. Buying a 600 dollar system is a tough hit. This way you can upgrade as you wish.....I still may add a fourth and ditch the doublebright

I was looking through your pics and the doublebright doesn't seem to be doing much for you anyways so might as well.
