global aquatics. is the best lfs in the ie they sale everything

I went there once and they had a HUGE selection of salt and fresh water fish. The only reason I never returned was:

1.) long drive

2.) a gentlemen at the store didnt know what Apistogrammas were and told me that they are a rare collector fish (not true but this didnt bother me that much)

Ton's of cichlids .... You name it they got it. Staff is really cool and they know their stuff. Prices are fair for the type of fish that they keep in stock.

The only one that knows anything at global is the owner. an old man named mike. even his advice im not sure if id follow but he knows about a lot of fish and claims to have a fish farm and be one a of 1st people to bring in particular types of mbunas back in the day. the short fat mexican guy is a complete idiot and id advise doing the opposite of anything he says...lol

I went into Pacific Reef today, at like 4:30pm.
They have some nice stuff, two nice silver aro's.
And an ornate polypterus I wanted but no prices on that tank.
The two guys working there didn't even acknowledge me, just kept talking to each other - I guess they weren't concerned in making a sale? Or maybe they don't like white boys. LOL.

Also when I left, a guy wearing wearing geta sandals walked in - I lol'd.

They're ok. Definitely not the best in LA, I would put Fumi's, Jim, and Tokyo over them anyday. Tongs in Whittier is also a lot better too.

So i picked the festaes up from umbeeking... healthy fish... can't wait to see them grow.

Can you post some pics, been wanting some Festeas for a while now. I was thinking of waiting and ordering them from Rapps but I here this guy is the real deal. Any info on the price and sizes available???

Fumi's is over priced, Jim's is cool but don't carry the variety that Tong's does. Never been to Tokyo so I can't speak on it.

They are 1-1.5" for 10$ each and they are that size. Your not gonna go pick up a 1" fish and it ends up being .5" with this guy. The pair is wild and unrelated. This is the real deal, it doesn't get any better than this plus u dint have to pay shipping:) search UmbeeKings profile and check his previous threads for pics and videos or check the marketplace for his updated sale thread

Pet World and Daryll's in Redlands, some pretty crazy selections of freshwater fish

I'll post some pictures in a bit and this guy is the real deal. Would be worth it just for the trip out there to see his umbee's. U wont be disappointed, took these little guys 1 day to warm up to me now they come to me whenever they see me. Starting to color up a little too.

Petworld is good... Daryll's in redlands WAS great off of Texas st. but IMO new location is a hole in the wall. Economy is making LFS suffer. Fish Fantasy lost half of their building because of this as well.
