Is it worth the gas to get out of IE? do you find the same common fish out there as out here? how do LA and OC's stock rate against global aquatic?

Ill let you know what I find! For the most part most of the stocks are the same except for your occasionally "harder to find" species, but some places order fishes from different farms/breeders/vendors.

T(the owner) at the Reef Tropical Fish will order almost any fish I ask of him; if he can get it of course. Another gentlemen at Big Sav Discount in Garden Grove showed me a list of ALL the fish he can order, so I asked him to order all the harder to find bichirs :D

and a buddy of mine is driving down from the IE to tag along...

went to reef tropical fish yesterday pretty decent selection, actually ran into a buddy of mine lol. lots of great fish, but the two employees didnt wanna help me. i know i can be a bit scary sometimes but cmon lol

The only person I talk to there is the owner T (older asian gentlemen) If you wouldve went later, his better shipments come in on Wed. instead of Mon. I get that reaction alot when I go to LFS, but Im used to it and if I need an ID i got my phone handy. Ill just go up to someone random and ask them to grab the fish I want.

I saw plenty of CAs ranging from Vieja Argentea, Hypsophrys nicaraguensis, and a few others. I also saw alot of Geos (I actually bought a few from my eartheater tank), some different "sabertooth characin" and even some illegal fish lOl. We were quite disappointed to find out that Jim's Exotic Fish was closed on Wed! But other than that we visited alot of stores and saw many fish. I think today was a good day. Next time I'm gonna drive up to the IE and check out some LFS up there with him,

I've been seeing a lot of Geo's lately at various places. I know a lot of people like them but I don't know much about them. I know they are earth eaters... what do they do dig? my rd does enough of that...lol

i never see illegal fish in the IE... lucky you

I been seeing a lot of lung fish lately too. i heard they can bite you really bad and can't really like with anything. It scares me that they can get out of the water and "walk" and live for years out of the water... seen them on natgeo
