Here ya go a couple of links to a male dovii kept under several Hagen Powerglo lamps

show me your dovii
Update: 13" Rapps Dovii Male

Alright I clicked the links.....it has good color and patterns but sorry Brian, those pics have been computer enhanced with extra color (i.e.-not real/photoshopped). NO lighting will make a fish's fins give off their own blue lighting, c'mon.

Very Nice Dovii's! =) My Lil 3" Male Dovii is nothing compared to your guy's dovii's....lol But im curious...how come some dovii's get much taller than other specimens and some get much more longer than being tall? Is it from the river is was collected in? Thx

No, but the fins on those two pics aren't putting off their own blue lighting like the others were.

How can you even compare them....they're completely different. Let's put them beside each other and compare. How can you think that a Dovii's fins can glow in the dark? Top pic-not PS's. Second two-yes.

Really don't see much difference with the dovii in any of the pics.

Fins seem "glowing" in all Recs pics

Did your read greentetra's thread? He mentions the effects lighting can have. I would believe his pics a more accurate as to showing the true dovii though.

I guess I need to upgrade my lighting because my Dovii's fins are really blue but I want them to glow in the dark. Got a link to greenterra's thread?

The only thing I see a bit off with Recs pics is that the water looks blue including the gravel? Photo Shopped maybe? maybe there is an actinic bulb in the mix as 18000k power glo bulbs don't produce that IME.

Ya it may also be the processor on his point and shoot camera. I don't have any experience lighting a male dovii with the powerglos, but I do know what they did with my black aro.

These two are with a combo of 6700k pc lamps and a single 40w powerglo lamp plus another unknown 40w fluoresent lamp.

P1060350.JPG

This pic was taken with 6 65w pc lamps. Two were 6500k and 4 were a coralife 50/50 half 6700k and half colormax.

This pics was under a pair of 96w pc lamps one 10,000k and one atinic blue

All the same aro and the same camera. So as you can see the lighting will make a difference.
