This sort of argument makes me chuckle a little. I don't have flowerhorns but I have a Texas so I consider it close enough. I feed it and all my other fish a mix of nls thera, cichlid, hikari massavor, a wide array of freeze dried stuff and fresh veggies.

As for the one pellet fits all argument, yes it will work...best? Well, consider that for the so called "best brand" NLS, they had not even come up with one version pellet that fits all ;)

Pretty much, they have done just that. Take a close look at the raw ingredients used in all of the various formulas that they sell - they are almost identical. Some have slighly higher rates of protein or fat (such as Small Fish formula, and Growth formula) and the TherA has a higher inclusion rate of garlic. Otherwise the basic "recipe" used in each formula is pretty much the same, other than the actual size of the pellet.

This sort of argument makes me chuckle a little, too.

You guys wasted 5 pages of this thread arguing over whether to feed one food or multiple when you could have answer the question... sad. It's simple logic that a single pellet brand cannot cover all the dietary needs regardless of the results you have(which I don't refute). As for the using multiple foods I do't see why one would use different pellets(besides veggi and carnivore pellets) at the same time. I currently use sticks(tetra), pellets(aqueon), shrimp(Omega One), and flakes(tetra). The only reason I use sticks is because stimulation and my female jack won't respond to pellets.
To answer the op's question. The best mix(not talking about brands) should be veggi, carnivore, and non-processed foods(bloodworms, shrimp, krill, etc). That's just my opinion.

When it comes to fish food there is no point in even making threads. I think certain members "search" for these threads just to cause conflict.

what is sad is the op just asked a simple question. Any effective answer he was given was lost to a raging internet argument that was probably so far over his and everyone else's heads it really DIDN'T HELP ANYTHING...having trouble believing that said argument in any way helped him make decisions on what to feed his fish...which was the point of HIS thread. Yes his thread, not the guys who derailed it and made it into something else....

What's really sad is this thread is over 2 yrs old. :)
