BEst shelter for convicts? to breed

I have a tank for some convicts that only has claypots in it (13 of em). Bot the prettiest tank but it produces a lot of fry.

doesn't really matter. they'll use a flat spot out in the open if necessary.
maybe a pot or a large flat rock to remove the eggs easily if required?

Yeah, anything you want to put in the tank would be fine. I have clay pots in mine along with a couple pieces of slate. They love both spots. I love my convicts. When the lfs told me they breed like crazy I was just like OK. Little did I know I would have so many fry.

Excellent, im goin to try and use rock... maybe ill throw a little pot in... just hate that clay color... thanks for the pointers guys

if u just hate the color brown of the pot, use the painted ones normally available @ flower/plants shops. they have nice designs too u can choose from. but anyway, u can use big driftwoods too! with white sand? oooh thats cool.

Sand is a Definate, im sick of dealing with dirty gravel, ill go with a White sand with a BAg of sumthin else to illuminate it more.. perhaps a flourescent color... but i think im going driftwood and rocks, good ol fashioned ingenuity will help me along the way.. i found some great pieces of driftwood today when i was hiking up a riverbank for 5 hours.. should be fun settin up this Breeder tank..

i Hate flower pots, so ugly in a tank, i think it looks cheap... its like seeing PVC pipe in your tank... I want something that looks authentic.. like their habitat...im goin to somehow figure out a way to carve out a rock into a pot shape...jk

If you don't like flower pots, use a rock and a couple of slate rock. Put the regular rock down and put the 2 slate rock on top and let it rest at a 45 degree angle. It turns it into a small cave. My Convicts used that to breed instead of the clay pot I provided them.
