Well I wouldnt really say harmony they picked out their new corners and are protecting it from mbuna african cichlids more than twice their size. They were originally in my 10 gallon just because I got them by accident.I wasnt expecting them to pair up so fast, like the next day and they were all and still are just juveniles a little over an inch.and it was 6 fish not 6 pairs.I dont really recommend anything else in the tank just leave them be and do what they know best breed!oh yeah as far as plants i have some live plants that helps out too...

Cool im Goin to try an get some floating plants and a few swprds, maybe a moneywart or two as well:naughty: :naughty: :naughty:

Plants would be good, but get a load more rocky caves in there and watch the party begin! A couple of caves at each end of the tank and something else near the middle will give any/all pairs their own territory. Once thay start having fry, you really won't need any other fish in there, they'll be entertainment enough.

Yeah i agree with the cave suggestion have quit a few and let them pick out there breeding homes!as far as the plant I just put 2 small plants in 1 at each side for water quality and little hiding spots once they breed for the fry to hide in.but definatlly live plants reall helps out your tank...

€What are the best and hardiest plants? Swords i know are hardy, but what else is there? and what type of floating plants are the most hardy and best looking?

What are the best plants to get? i know swords are hardy an all, but what is just as hardy but better looking? i used to have some green topped purple under leaf plants they were cool.. also what are the bestlookin floater plants around?

Best is your opinion,I think swords would be good or mangroves are nice as, far as floating plants I use water sprite my fish love that stuff!

Hope your breeding project has borne fruit (fry!). Here's some pics of my Con tank. Managed to trade in 15 of the original 24 at lfs and now have just 2 breeding pairs with their fry and 5 juveniles left.
Got £2 store credit a fish for them - £30! (nearly $50) - which I was rather surprised at. They were a decent size and very healthy, so that might explain it. The previous Cons that they had taken in were not in great condition and were retailing at £3.00 each (£1.50 trade in value) so I got a good price. Cons aren't that common here, but still hard to find a shop that's happy to give credit/cash for them.
Now I'm growing out the fry until I can trade them all in as well. How are your Cons doing?
