Oscars need a 75 gallon according to like 1000 people. I agree with a 55 being big enough, if the water is maintained correctly and just an Oscar. If the 55 has more than 13" in width its perfect. That's why most people recommend a 75 for oscars. But many people keep oscars in tanks 55-75 gallon tanks. IMO you can keep two oscars in 75 gallon, if the water is kept in presteen condition.
