Ok what size tank first off and what type of cichlids

Best Starter Monster? Possibly one that fits in your pocket? I recommended Squirtle.

Maybe not a starter and not necessarily a monster but diffidently an awesome fish. Achers. They grow to a bit over a foot and to top it off they spit water at you! Only downside is they are brackish. 55+ Gallon

jack dempsey
blood parrot
red texas
bristlenose pleco
pictus or 4 line pim
and maybe a red tail cuda and buenos aires tetras(yes i am aware of the fact they will be food i am using them to test the water before i put my cichlids in).
i am still setting up which is why i am asking now. i may not do the pim cats if there is a monster cat i could do in their place same goes for the cuda
