best starter monster?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
+1 for Archers. They're really easy to look after and look cool (I've got 2 of them).

They're not so much a brackish fish, but with all Australian natives, they do like a bit more salt in the water than normal (I add 4 heaped teaspoons into 25 Litres).

Best Starter Monster? Possibly one that fits in your pocket? I recommended Squirtle.

Maybe not a starter and not necessarily a monster but diffidently an awesome fish. Achers. They grow to a bit over a foot and to top it off they spit water at you! Only downside is they are brackish. 55+ Gallon

Unless you like the look of them, what's the point of an archer in the home aquarium? Hang food off the suspended lights?

as to being overstocked yes slightly. as to the red texan being the bully no way. i am getting him next week when my folks get back from sturgis and he is the shyest fish ever. he was in a tank with some convicts that where 1 inch and he is 4 inches and the convicts had to be taken out cause they where beating him up. he is now afraid of everything. also i am getting a marineland emperor 400 biowheel and an fx5. that is over 1000 gallons per hour of filtration. and i have experience with slightly overstocked tanks.

You get a tall tank and lower the water level. Then have hanging plants on the side to put crickets and critters for them to shoot down.

well if you count his tail he is 6 inches but i just count body length cause his tail is torn to shreds from the convicts.
