Just buy a few 100 micron felt filter socks. They last for years and work great. I use them until I see the flow noticeably slow down, then I replace it with a clean one. To wash, I just turn them inside out, and put into the washing machine with no soap a little bleach and an extra rinse.
I think they are easily the most economical choice. We sell them for less than $5 each and I have some that I have been using continually on my system for over 3 years.
