If you go with a Python-style changer, don't buy Python. Their products are junk and break easily. Get Aqueon, their faucet pump is built much, much better.
i had the opposite experience. The aqueon one i had would blow hoses and blast water all over the kitchen. I have no had problems with the python brand.
Also they seem to come standard with the brass fitting now so complaints of the plastic one should be none unless buying old stock

also i may add if you have a "green" gph limited faucet it could take a loooong time to refill tanks.
It takes around 2 hours total to drain and refill if i just use the python to refill about 80 gallons in my 220

100% agreed. Except you want the brass fittings for your faucet from a python. The plastic one from aqueon is junk.

Save a bunch of money and buy the fittings at home depot to attach to your faucet and some hose. Less than 30 bux for 50+ footer. And the garden hose will drain wayyyy faster than the python hose.

I haven't had any problems with my python and I've had it for more than 4 years, +1 on the brass fiiting though..

I've broken the plastic connector that attaches the the faucet with both brands. I just think the aqueon is a superior design... It has a switch on the faucet side instead of that stupid design where you twist the python. I think it's also better quality all around. Both will get the job done though!

I drain my tanks outside with a separate hose usually. Much faster than using the sink.

tru....when i had my parents place that wouldn't be a problem. lol.

but on a second story apartment.........ehhhhhh.

Are you kidding me? Gravity is what is providing the siphon. You can now hang your hose out of a second story down to ground level and drain at an outrageously fast speed. At an acceleration of 32 feet per second and a distance from a second story window to ground level you would probably drain a hundred gallons in less than 12 minutes!
