Save a bunch of money and buy the fittings at home depot to attach to your faucet and some hose. Less than 30 bux for 50+ footer. And the garden hose will drain wayyyy faster than the python hose.

Beyond any shadow of a doubt. By far the most expensive part of this method is the gravel vacuum head itself (under $10) at the LFS.

The poly. tubing at Lowes runs $0.31 per foot. The sink adapter cost about a buck!

I have two large gravel vacuum heads (bought from Petsmart), 200 feet of poly. tubing and a sink hose adapter. This allows for two complete drainage gravel vacuums (MANY DOZENS OF TIMES FASTER THAN PYTHON DRAINAGE!) and one refill hose for every tank in the house plus the outdoor deck pond!

$ 62.00 ==> Poly. Hose (200 feet)
$ 1.00 ==> Sink Adapter (1/2")
$ 18.00 ==> Large Gravel Vacuum heads (2)
___________
$ 91.00 ==> Total water change setup DOZENS OF TIMES FASTER than python style!:ROFL:

Are you kidding me? Gravity is what is providing the siphon. You can now hang your hose out of a second story down to ground level and drain at an outrageously fast speed. At an acceleration of 32 feet per second and a distance from a second story window to ground level you would probably drain a hundred gallons in less than 12 minutes!

tru.....

.....you can't always get away with that in palm beach. lol.

as well as, my name isn't on the lease as it is and do not want to attract attention. lol.:ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:

Man, after re-reading my original post, JUST WOW! Man could that be taken out of context! Be careful hanging your "hose" out the second story window to drain!:headbang2
