best way to do solid black background?

What about window/limo tint from Walmart? I used that stuff on my bedroom windows when I worked third shift.

I've used 5% window tint on a couple of my tanks and it works pretty good

The background sheets the sell at LFS works great, the one that is black on one side and blue on the other. Easier to maintain and change if you need to.

I just did a black "satin" background for about $5. I used Krylon Fusion in several light coats. Let dry 20 minutes between coats and it's very smooth. I used the entire can for complete coverage.
