Best wet pet

what is everyone’s favourite wet pet for a 125, I want something very interactive and always swimming. Would also like some bottom dwellers in there

Jardini arowana, Oscar, most large SA cichlids, odoe pike, there’s loads of others but either less active or not as personable

A Flowerhorn would make a good wet pet. Kinda like an aquatic puppy. Not so sure how it would do with bottom dwellers though. Perhaps a bichir.

Paratilapia sp. are quite personable, but my experience with them is that they can be highly territorial and may not tolerate tank mates.

I don’t really like hybrids which is what put flowerhorns off for me

They are very close in personality to an oscar from my experience.

Shubunkins and plecos. Shubunkins are all over the place and super interactive with each other and me. My galaxy pleco is beautiful but shy. My gold spot pleco is active day and night. And his sail fins flutter beautifully.

I hear you. They aren't for everyone. As suggested above, an Oscar would certainly fit the bill, although they may be a little more common than what you are seeking .
