.........noobish lol jk but its not substrate till in a tank lol. I got 2 shells finally, brand new ones. Let them sit in water change water for a day. BAAAADDDDDD!!! Glad i didn't put in my tank lol. They started to oxidize from inside out! Black bad lookin stuff, also looked as if nickle was coming off.

He didn't have each shell plated. You can buy nickle casings. They are not as common but they are made. I am a gun and a fish nut but I don't think the two hobbies should be mixed this way........

Wow just looked into it, and your right. The foreman was a lil more full of it then i thought. And I do agree.

Yeah, LOL it would be far too expensive to nickle plate each shell. I do like the idea to but as everyone said it would be a maintanance nightmare. I am tryng to think how one could mix a fish and gun hobby and make it not only look good, but work...hmm...one could paint a background of guns and shells lol. However, I personally like a natural look in my tanks.
 
So, i have not been back but I know some people that work there and you alll were right. It's a fish killer. They almost rotate large goldfish in this tank. From my understanding, they are almost dropping like flies lol. Best guess 1 per month.
