Betta Breeding???

Lately i have realy been wanting to try betta breeding. But from what ive read they can have any where from 50 to 100+ fry, and i would only want to keep like 5 or 6. So what would be the best thing to do with the rest?

i feel like you might have trouble giving them all away...

selling them would be best- but most LFS's pay next to nothing for comon veiltail bettas- most bettas, from veiltail to halfmoon cost 1-15$ wholesale. most LFS want a large amount as well, usually in 50-200 quantities. unless you are a commercial breeder, it is hard to make money off of betta breeding.

If you want to breed betta's and sell the offspring, you should probably find a very nice looking pair, maybe a halfmoon. Aqua bid has very nice betta fish. Platnium halfmoon betta's acually sell for some very good money on aquabid. Way more then what you would get selling them to your LFS. Good Luck.

if you get nice pairs, the offspring may be worth about $10 each.

if whole selling, you'll get barely $1 each if you have the HM or Dragon strains.
If not, they'll just take it for free. esp VT's and CT's

-other uses for unwanted fry.....................................feeders!!!!

depends which type of betta you have, i recently bought a halfmoon betta for $15, but thats adult males and the price varies depending on what type of betta it is. check LFS for betta prices or try going online like "aquabid.com" and cecking out some prices, but most people sell them when they are adults cuz they are more profitable, rather than young. gl.
