I was the same way bro lol I didn't want to spend money so I used egg yolk and the plants ,they said let the plants in a container with water then add it to the fry tank ,small plant life grows on it like worms or whatever and they eat that also ,your in Cali like I am so you shouldnt worry about the heater cause it's hot af this week lol

Can we see some pics of the parents and fry? Also, as far as food goes. If they are still young try boiling cabbage and put in some if the water and leave as after it cools
