betta

Betta must be very tasty to other fish because almost everything nips on those long fins! They are aggresive to certain smaller species but most fish just push them around, bettas are too slow and easy targets for fin nippers !

I put 2 bettas (separately) into a 20g tank that has a built in filter (eclipse-like) but both of them died within days  I would think that they would enjoy the space. I wonder if the current might've been too strong:confused:

yeah, probably oo strong that it can not gasp for air.

I used to breed bettas and your setup sounds OK. Slower moving water, plants Etc. Give him some live food to hunt once in awhile, remember... he's a little predator Dragon . I aslo had floating water Sprite plants in my tanks. They like to wedge themselves in the hub of larger plants and just hang there watching the world go by, or sometimes they would lie right on the top of the plants and soak up the warmth from the lights like a little tanning bed.

Your Crowntail bettas, and anything except females wouldn't like living with barbs, RTS, and anything else that would chase them at all.

As far as I know, glass catfish prefer fast moving water (not good for bettas!). I'm not entirely sure if this is needed for them, or just preferable. If it's not needed to keep them healthy, you could keep them together.

For what it's worth, I keep five female bettas in a thirty-six gallon community tank with danios and other nippy fish. Despite the occasional fight over the last algae wafer or pecking order, I've had zero problems with aggression.

Reason #125 I love girly bettas.
