They are tortoises. They would love a nice outdoor pen with space to burrow. Not sure how cold/warm it gets in the UK, but Hermans torts could probably be done for part of the year.
 
Build a tortoise table.
 
They don't even need a cover if you make the edges tall enough. Beside if the edges are not tall enough, they can stress out because if they see the "outside" world, they think they can go to it.

That looks good, but lower the UV light. I'd put it as close as possible to the tortoises as long as they can't reach up to it.

A couple of questions though:
What kind of substrate are you using, and are you regulating your ceramic heat emitter? If not, it would be a good idea. I don't know how prone to starting fires they are, but they will use less electricity and will create a more consistent temperature if you use a good thermostat. They might last longer as well.
 
Outdoor housing in the summertime should be possible. Here in Holland lots of people keep them outside during the summer. Some let them even hibernate outside.

Yes were using a thermostat they are on bark chippings.
