Better Sand?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
What are you using for lights in your smaller tank ?,if its something different thank satellite current usa maybe you can take a little sand from the 285 and throw it in the smaller tank to see if the lights change the appearance

Hahaha I was actually doing that today during my water changes, except I was moving my lights around. I don't know why, but moving sand seems harder than moving lights for me. I'm adjusting my lights and it seems like my problem has been that I don't have enough blue to go along with all of the white the LEDs are letting off. I enhanced the blue on my current USAs and it seems a little bit better. I'm going to give it a couple days so the polys can settle down from the WC, because between the moving of the lights and decor I'm sure they've had their fair share of stress.

Duh moving lights way wasier than using sand....better than buying new lights though lol.

Do you have the model (lights) with the preset color options ? Pretty sure its the plus model
If so the sunset setting usually makes most ofy fish look there best.

I remember using it a while back and not liking that mode. Just changed it back am not sure what I was thinking. It makes the sand visibly more red. I'll leave on this for the next few days and then change it to a couple other options and see if I notice a difference. Thanks guys for all your help

I also like the white setting turned down a bit and adding red to it. Not so much red where the light looks red.... ugh you'll see what i mean, that sunset, and the darker blue are all i really use along with all red at night
