Better tank size?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have a 220 which is the 6x2x2.5 I like it. The only thing Is it can be a little harder to reach the bottom. It just depends on the stand height and how tall you are. The 180 is a nice tank also. So it would really depend on your preference.
Cost would come into play if the price is considerably different. Unless money is no object I would always go for the bigger tank just for the added water volume.

Gotcha. Cost isn't really an issue. So 6 x 2 x 2.5 is 220 and 6 x 2 x 2 is 180 right? Thanks. I'm leaning towards bigger of 2

ALWAYS go bigger. This is MFK. I have a 30 inch high tank, and that is the most height I would get for 2 reasons.
1. It's the deepest tank I can touch the bottom and clean the bottom of the glass with my arm without getting in it. I'm 6 feet tall, if you're much shorter than me, then don't get a 30 inch tall tank.
2. 32 inches is how wide the door is to get a tank into my house--I don't have a sliding glass door, all my doors are 31-32 inches wide. Any more than 30 inch height tank, I'd have to take a window out to get the tank in. No thanks.

So, you're a go for 30 inch height unless your arms are a lot shorter than mine. If they are, then get the 180.

Bigger tank all day. Congrats

.....or just get a dive mask and snorkel for tank maintenance :D
