I wouldn't sell an animal to someone who didn't at least have a decent understanding of what they needed. I worked at a Pet Supplies Plus and I can't tell you how many people came in wanting tiny turtles. I told everyone that requested an animal that couldn't care for it..."I'm sorry ya'll but if you look online you can find more specific information on that specific species but I'm not going to sell you this XXXX." That would make sense...but in this company they are all about new initiatives and trying all sorts of abstract methods. The latest emphasis is not on sales directly, but pleasing customers so that they will return and tell other people. They have this thing where customers take surveys on the phone, and the only responses they care about is the likelihood to return and recommend.
Therefore, i have a manager that will send anyone who even slightly complains out the door with a $20 gift card.
Oh yea...and the information for size and compatibility. First of all, half of the fish labels don't have the information, just a generic blurb about asking a "specialist" for help. And you ever check out the noclownsinacube site? How they point out sizes of fish vary store to store? Well our tags are maybe 5+ years old.
He probably just needs his med.s tweeked (and the family is afraid of him or used to it)
