Is the Lump getting any smaller?
Just as i said on the last page mate(near the top), no different. It is still the smaller size from when i syringed it but does sometimes grow and shrink a couple of hours after feeding. Definatly weird

If it burst it may damage or kill your other fish, i would put her in a seperate tank.
I'm not sure why you said that as the bgk with swelling IS in a seperate tank by itself as mentioned in previous posts.
For the record it's in because of the same reason you posted :)

Thanks for the replies everyone :)

UPDATE, still in seperate tank alone and after feeding as usual i noticed the swollen lump had nearly doubled in size. I just fed it algae pellets like i have been doing for a few months. There was also a small 2-3mm stick like thing protrouding from the swelling/lump and a white bit near the anal area (poop, I dunno?). I didn't get a photo and since then it has calmed down again, not as bad. This is REALLY starting to do my head in even more now grr :( I'll try and get a photo but I know it will have gone down by then and will probably look the same as previous photo's :(

Richy, don't loose hope.

Could it be some sort of hernia? (sorry I know the spelling is wrong)

If it swells after feeding and looks like you can see outlines of food then perhaps it is a tear in the tissue that separates the stomach from the skin.

Not sure what could be done about it but if it is a tear in the tissue - and infection is not a problem - it may not have a huge impact the health or longivity of the BGK.

You may want to try feeding 'softer foods' like frozen bloodworm to see if that helps. Perhaps if the area is not 'stretched' by larger foods it will have a chance to heal.

All guesses I am afaid - but trying softer foods for a bit certainly could not hurt.

Please keep the updates coming. I have my fingers crossed for you.

Thanks DK and CM for the replies :)
The swelling was back down to the "normal" abnormal lump/swelling today and tonight i fed some frozen bloodworm and it has swollen up a bit again. It actually went crazy when the bloodworm went in as it's been a while since it had some. I was trying to lower the proteins but just guesing like others as we don't know what the problem is :(
DK, i'm not losing hope as everything seems fine apart from the abnormality, just frustrated I we can't pinpoint what it is to treat correspondingly.
I'll keep you informed and thanks :)

Hi Cmartin :)
The small bgk still has a lump but it doesnt seem to swell like it was at first. I put it back in the main tank with the big one about 2 month ago and everything is still fine, nothing to be concerned about i dont think. What it is, i still dont know. It's been alone for so long and i never seem any ailments at all so i took the risk of returning and I'm not worried :)
I'm not even looking to see what the problem is now, fish is happy and feeding as always and never looked ill apart from the weird lump :)
Thankyou for remembering about the issue :)

Richy
