What else are good top swimmers out there that can be compatible to bichirs

Depends on species of payara and bichir. Don't think I'd recommend it.

My vote is for those sexy pink tail chalceus

There's not many top swimmers that stay on top, lol. Can only think of chalceus, Apollo sharks at the moment. Most characins and Odoe pikes works well if they are big enough. But believe these mostly mid tank with some top, lol
