Would it be possible to keep a ornate with a flowerhorn. The Flowerhorn is about 4 inches and the ornate would be about 7 to 8 inches. It is a 125 gallon tank

A. At that size, the ornate bichir can easily swallow down a 4" FH

B. The ornate spares the FH, but when the FH gets bigger, it would start picking on the ornate

really don't agree with that at all... flowerhorn are very fullbodied fish and they can take care of themselves

i find it funny that in the bichir section people say the bichir will eat the FH and the FH section everybody says that the FH will kill the bichir (which is IMO more likely)

I know you should never underestimate the power of a bichir to eat something, but a 7-8" ornate trying to swallow a 4" flowerhorn would indeed be a site to see

^ Once you turn off the lights, FH are very much at a disadvantage.

And I also find it funny. Maybe its due to ego. People at the Flowerhorn section want to make to sounds as though their fish are superior. Same goes for the people at polypterus section.

true story about the llghts, i own both so i find it very funny seeing this same thread in both sections haha
