I have a dinosaur bichir and a peacock eel in a temporary tank right now, they are both about 3". I'm sure this has been asked before but what would be some good tank mates for a 200 gallon tank?
some mid-high swimmer fish that don't hide much and some cleaner fish? and what other bottom dwellers should I bring into the tank?

Welcome aboard

If you purchased your Dinosaur Bichir from Petsmart the specie you have would be a Senegal which is my favorite btw. I personally would as far as bottom cleanup crew would suggest Raphael Catfish and for mid level anything not overly aggressive and not to small to be eaten by the Bicher aka Poly what we call them short for Polypterus their scientific family order name. Do me a big favor list the size of your aquarium and let us know what type of mid level swimming fish that interest you.

yes it is a Poly from petsmart, would you happen to know a few fish off the top of your head?
The new fish tank is 200g about 4.5'x2.5'x2.7'. i would be interested in some other bichir/eel like fish for the bottom and some kind of active swimmers for the top range, I've learned that a specific type of cichlid are good but I'm looking for other options.

If you wanted to do all oddballs I would suggest a group of African Butterfly fish for the surface African Knife mid and Delhezi Bichir or Ropefish for the bottom.

If you would like more replies make a thread in forum Ancient fish and choose Polypterus and make a new thread there but be warned you may get hooked on Polys by the Poly keeper gang lol.

African knifefish are also bottom end dwellers :)

Congo tetras are very nice, an African bush fish or 2 could work in their place although they aren't so active.

Welcome aboard the poly place, you made a good choice with a senegal :D

Rainbowfish, chalceous, geophagus, clown loaches, ctenapoma... the list goes on and on. It's great to plan around an empty 200g tank :)
